SUCCESSFUL GRANT FOR 50 FREE CREATIVE WORKSHOPS FOR ILUKA AND DISTRICT

EXCITING NEWS!

On Friday the 20th January, the Iluka Emporium committee was thrilled to welcome Chris Gulaptis MP, Richie Williamson, facilitators and guests to officially announce that we have been awarded a Stronger Country Communities Fund grant from the NSW government. This will mean more free creative workshops for our community. Nineteen local artists and craftspeople will be employed to deliver more than 50 individualised creative workshops to our community for the next 2 years. The program will be exciting and varied with exhibitions and performances at the completion of each workshop. Residents from Iluka and the Clarence Valley district will be able to participate. It is widely acknowledged that sharing creative experiences in small groups benefits mental health, resilience and socialisation.

The Stronger Country Communities Fund was established by the NSW Government to deliver local projects that enhance the lives of people living in regional communities and is administered by the Department of Regional NSW.

The Iluka Emporium Grant project team – Linda, Carolyn and Jacky will be announcing the new program soon. Watch for social media and website announcements. For enquiries email ilukaemporiumworkshops@gmail.com
